West Central Development Council

The West Central Development Council (WCDC) provides professional planning services and multiple economic development initiatives for six counties throughout east-central Illinois. WCDC works through a consultation process with local governments, citizens and the private sector to identify cost effective solutions and assure economic growth for all communities. WCDC assists its local governments in a diverse set of topics including community and economic development, comprehensive planning, data and information services, grant research, writing and administration, energy efficiency and transportation planning. The west central region is a federally recognized Economic Development District by the U.S. Econimic Development Administration (EDA). WCDC is charged with the maintenance and implementation of the EDA Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
