Alene Carr is the Executive Director at Southeastern Illinois Regional Planning and Development. Prior to becoming the Executive Director, she served as the Economic Development Coordinator for six years and was a Regional Planner when beginning at SIRP&DC in 2004. She supervises staff in economic development, grant writing and administration. Also in her role as Executive Director, she is directly responsible for providing technical and planning assistance to the five-county region in Southeastern Illinois as well as working with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration and other various local, state and federal agencies. Alene is a Delta Leadership Institute graduate and attended the Midwest Community Development Institutes 3-year CDI program. In her spare time, Alene volunteers with Hardin County Main Street, Illinois Special Olympics and American Red Cross Relay for Life.
